Acne Skin Care

Acne is the most common skin condition among all races, genders, and ages. It is a skin disorder of chronic inflamed sebaceous glands that causes pimples. Teenaged males with oily skin tend to suffer the most severe acne. However, studies show that more adult females experience acne after puberty caused by excessive sebum production due to hormonal imbalance.

Clogged pores, bacteria, genetics, cosmetics, tobacco use, diet, hormonal changes, and stress cause acne.

Oily skin has larger pores and produces excess oil. Oil and dead skin cells are clogged in the large pores and cause pimples. Cleansing and exfoliating regularly can keep pores clean, and using the right skincare products can significantly improve the skin.

A foaming cleansing gel with alpha hydroxy acid or beta hydroxy acid, or benzoyl peroxide (Cellbone Mandelic Facial Cleansing Gel with 5% Mandelic Acid) helps exfoliate and clear pores. A Toner with antibacterial properties (Cellbone Mandelic Skin Refresher) calms skin and control oil production. Unlike benzoyl peroxide, which may dry or irritate the skin, naturally derived Alpha hydroxy acid works well for sensitive skin and medium to dark skin tones. It also helps reduce wrinkles and brighten the skin.

Try not to over-exfoliating or over-cleansing, which can irritate the skin and make the skin worse.

Apply non-comedogenic oil-free hydrating moisturizer (Cellbone Anti-acne products and Oil-free Hydrating Moisturizer).

Sunscreen is necessary during the day to protect the exfoliated skin from sun damage. Use a setting mask (Cellbone Collagen Clay Mask) once or twice a week to lift excess oil, impurities, dirt from the skin as it dries and tightens the skin. A setting mask stimulates circulation and shrinks pores.

Exfoliating skin peels help get rid of dead skin cells and keep pores clean. Skincare for acne skin is similar to acne skin care.

Proper skin care can visibly improve its appearance. Consult a physician or esthetician first to determine the best care for the skin condition.
